TEENAGE PREGNANCIES
Babies having babies! Is the new trend?
Teenage pregnancy is defined as females under 18(children by law) who engage in sexual activity and become pregnant either internationally or un-internationally. Traditionally, these female teens are regarded as selfish, apathetic and immoral by general population regardless of the teens intention of getting pregnant and almost ignoring completely the other party.
At 9 million, adolescents make up a quarter of the population in Uganda yet life is a tough row to hoe for many. Poverty, HIV and AIDS, early marriage, teenage pregnancy, gender-based violence and low participation in secondary education make it difficult for young people to fulfil their full potential.
